Contribution of Sadhu Ramchand Murmu

In the indigenous Santal society, Sadhu Ramchand Murmu is known as a Mahakabi or Kabiguru. Kabiguru Sadhu Ramchand Murmu left his home and relatives for the development of the Santali nation and engaged himself in the pursuit of immortal literature. We Santhals as of now are indebted for whatever he had done for the development of Santhals. His works have not been truly valued.To learn the consistency of Santali literature. We must appreciate Sadhu Ramchand Murmu for his dedication and hard work. He truly was a pioneer of Sari Dharam. At that time, the people of Santal society were puzzled by superstition and iniquity. Consuming alcohol, and drugs led to the destruction of the Santali family and financial condition. They lost their lands, their wealth as well as their families shattered down into pieces. At a little distance from the villages, whole night functions, dance, and music took place the whole night. In the name of enjoyment, there took place so many demeaned activities. This horrible situation forced Sadhu Ramchand Murmu to take a step and he started writing to reform the society.
