CONTRIBUTION OF TARAKCHANDRA SARKAR

The emergence of Tarakchandra Sarkar as a bard gave the Bengali kavigaan a new dimension. Tarakchandra Sarkar's essential works, philosophical as well as educational thoughts have been concealed in Bengali literature. Books written by him such as 'Shree Shree Harililamrita' and 'Shree Shree Mahasamkirtan' have played an important role in Matua society. The book 'Shree Shree Harililamrita' has played a crucial role in improving society. It can be acknowledged that would not have been established in that holy book. 'Shree Shree Harililamrita' is the best example of his life pursuit. This book is a very valuable document on the socio-cultural literature and scholarly religion of the people of Bengal at that time. Matua society was considered the backward class which was incredibly undeveloped and uneducated in the nineteenth century.
