This book aims at using the metaheuristic method for continuous variable problems often encountered in engineering and their applications. In particular, this approach is used in the field of electric machine for the solution of the proportional integral control (PID) device. In this work, we have developed the problem of designing the PID controller. The latter is applied to solve parameter variation and to obtain the best possible speed response of the induction motor (IM). The gains Kp, Ki and Kd of the PID controller are adjusted using an optimization algorithm, the name, Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) to eliminate harmonics and ripple in the speed of new IM. This machine has a new geometry design. The parameters of this engine are to be identified with the finite element method (FEM), which are used to build the model in Simulink MATLAB.
