Control Approaches for Anthracnose and Common Bacterial Blight

Beans are renowned for their high productivity; however, the presence of diseases can result in significant yield losses and, in some cases, even make certain areas unviable for cultivation. Several pathogens, including viruses, bacteria, fungi and nematodes, have the potential to affect the crop, and it is estimated that more than 45 diseases can occur throughout its development cycle. These diseases not only cause considerable losses in productivity, but also impact the physiological, health, nutritional and commercial quality of the product.
