Bao-Zhu Guo received his Ph.D. in applied mathematics from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1991.From 1985 to 1987, he was a research assistant at Beijing Institute of Information and Control, China. During the period 19932000, he was with the Beijing Institute of Technology, first as an associate professor (19931998) and subsequently a professor (19982000). Since 2000, he has been with the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, where he is a research professor in mathematical system theory. He is the author or co-author of over 190 peer/refereed papers in international journals. His research interests include active disturbance rejection theory of control and application of infinite-dimensional systems. Dr. Guo received the One Hundred Talent Program from the Chinese Academy of Sciences (1999), and the National Science Fund for distinguished Young Scholars (2003). In 2013, he was elected a member of the Academy of Science of South Africa (ASSAf).

Jun-Min Wang** received his Ph.D in applied mathematics from the University of Hong Kong in 2004 and is now a full professor in School of Mathematics and Statistics at the Beijing Institute of Technology. His main research interest is the Riesz basis approach to control of systems described by partial differential equations. He has published nearly 60 peer/reviewed journal papers in the field.
