CPM and PERT

Operation research is the decision making field used to yield the simplest view of the complex problems with the use of collection of mathematical techniques and tools which work with the utilization and the allocation of scarce resources. Network analysis or Network scheduling is one of the techniques used in the operation research which is used for planning, scheduling and controlling of large Projects. These are based on the representation of the Project as a network of activities (1).Thus, analysis of network can be done by two techniques:-PERT (Project Evaluation and Review Technique) and CPM (Critical path method).
