Details

Creativity is a buzzword nowadays: it and its synonyms fill today's newspapers, magazines, advertisements, books and even tweets. You can read it or hear it almost every day. At the same time, you might read some articles or studies that debate the Chinese lack of creativity and how Chinese culture influences their creative ability. Chinese culture indeed affects the Chinese s creativity. However, what exactly is creativity? Since Tao plays such an important role in Chinese culture, finding the relationship between Tao and creativity might help understand how Chinese culture impacts Chinese creativity. This book may serve the following purposes: exploring another way for scholars to interpret the creativity of Chinese people, helping educators introduce creativity to Greater China in a way that does not appear Western by invention but rather through Chinese philosophy, and for Chinese to perceive and discover their creativity differently. Four themes will be covered, including self-actualization, dynamic balance, the CPS (Creative Problem Solving) process and creative personality to discuss the connections between Tao and Creativity.
