Crisis in Benin's cotton sector

The agricultural diagnosis of the commune of Kétou has shown that it has enormous potential and agro-ecological assets, favourable to agriculture. However, one of the main crops grown in the area, cotton, has the lowest yields. This study has identified the real problems facing the cotton sector in the commune and the strategies that need to be implemented to improve production while achieving good yields over large areas. The development of the sector at national level was also addressed.
