Crop suitability assessment under the perspective of climate change
Details
Climate change, food security, and environmental sustainability are among the most important challenges facing the world's population today. As crop productivity is threatened by climate change, agricultural research is developing innovative technologies to address these issues. This study was to analyze the effects of climate change on the land suitability of various crops in Niger, namely, sorghum, millet, cowpea, and, onion. Precipitation and temperature predicted by six global circulation models under three RCPs for two future periods (2041-2060 and 2060-2080) the country's seasonal climate were used.
