This study dissects the diplomacy and bargaining power of the transit country and the shifting economic relations involved in cross-border energy transportation.

Ekpen J. Omonbude is an Economic Advisor with the Commonwealth Secretariat. His area of specialisation is petroleum and mineral economics and policy. Prior to joining the Secretariat, he was a Research Analyst at FACTS Global Energy. Omonbude holds a PhD in Petroleum Policy and Economics from the University of Dundee, and is a member of the International Association for Energy Economics.
