Als Geowissenschaftler mit Hintergrund in Forschung und Handel bereiste der Lübecker mehr als 30 Länder und arbeitete international an mineralogischen und paläontologischen Projekten, war aber immer auch künstlerisch aktiv. Seit einigen Jahren führt er gemeinsam mit seiner Ehefrau Stephanie die Ladengalerie Kristallkontor in der Lübecker Altstadt. Das Ergebnis seiner fachlichen und kreativen Auseinandersetzungen mit den faszinierenden Welten der Kristalle präsentiert er in diesem Buch als essayistische Inspirationsquelle für neugierige Ästheten.
