CTDI AND DLP MEASUREMENTS

This book contains detailed information about dose measurements in Computed Tomography (CT) cabinets around Estonia, held in 2003-2006, and comparison of the results with EU reference dose levels for CT. The measured dosimetric quantities are weighted computed tomography dose index (CTDIw), dose length product (DLP) and effective dose (E). Along with dose measurements authors performed a comparison of standard routine protocols for most common CT examinations. The results are documented and brought with comments and comparisons. Further ways for reducing of CT radiation doses and estimation of effective and collective doses to patients are discussed.

Since 2003 - medical physicist at the Radiology Department of the Clinic of Diagnostics, West-Tallinn Central Hospital. In 2000 graduated from University of Tartu, B.Sc. in Applied Physics. In 2006 graduated from University of Tartu, M.Sc. in Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering.
