Cultural Factors inhibiting Effective Counselling in Kenyan Schools

Guidance and Counselling is a major component in any Educational System. All governments in Africa should ensure that Guidance and Counselling services are fully entrenched to assist youth in all manner of afflictions. However, cultural patterns in diverse communities in Africa, have inhibited this desirable service. This text examines some cultural factors that may inhibit effective guidance and counselling in schools. This book is invaluable to all Counsellors who are training in both Colleges and Universitys' students undertaking studies in Educational psychology, Counselling, Community Health Work and Medical practitioners.
