Details

Aquaculture constitutes the fastest growing food production sector in the world as it is through aquaculture that fish is produced to augment the protein needs of people who depend a lot on captured fisheries. Though, culture-based fisheries production in developing countries like Ghana is showing very strong growth, the rate is slow as it is bedeviled with many constraints, the major been inadequate high-quality, affordable and available feed supply. The high cost of feeding has affected the development and expansion of aquaculture enterprises in most African countries. The book is an attempt to address two-tailed concerns: assessing the feasibility of using agro-industrial by-products such as; pito mash/sorghum brewery waste, rice bran and groundnut bran for use in producing aquafeeds and assessing the profitability of these feedstuffs. The information contained in this book is of enormous substance to aquaculturist, fish research scientist and other researches interested in promoting aquaculture growth through the development of suitable and affordable feed especially in developing countries.
