Current Viscsoity Measurements of Crude Oils

Current viscosity and density are of the most vital physical properties of crude oils, they are the prevailing parameters of the fluid flowing in pipelines. Nevertheless, no practical theory exists for the prediction of current viscosity at various pressures and temperatures. Over the last years, several correlations have been developed to estimate the viscosity and density of crude oils at different conditions. But, these correlations have had unreliable results when applied to crude oils at high temperatures or to oils from other regions. The accuracy and validity of these correlations can only be determined by the comparison between the experimental data and the predicted values at certain temperatures and pressures. The book introduces the simulation of the flow of crude oils in pipelines using Process Current Viscometer, measurements of the current viscosity and density at different pressures and temperatures, and then the explanations of the effects of increasing temperature, pressure and revolutions per minute on the behavior of current viscosity.
