Cutting tools design

The book presents useful algorithms and indications for the design of non-standard cutting tools, more precisely of profiled and complex tools. Classic and modern materials from which the active parts of the cutting tools are made together with their main characteristics are exposed. For each category of tools (profiled turning tools, broaches, step drills, deep hole drills, form relieved milling cutters, side and face milling cutters with changeable inserts, complex tools that process circular surfaces) theoretical information necessary for design and examples are presented.

I am a professor in the field of Mechanical engineering at "Lucian Blaga" University of Sibiu, Romania. My areas of expertise are Cutting Theory, Cutting Tools Design, Lean Manufacturing and Project Management. This book is the result of my experience in cutting tools design area as well as my didactic experience acquired during 30 years.
