Dairy Farming and Income of Rural Households

Dairy sector holds a key position in Indian economy. Over the past few years, the dairy sector of India has seen tremendous growth, making India the world's largest producer of milk. This book focuses on the various hindrances in the path dairy cooperatives in Andhra Pradesh. A highlight of this book is its extensive coverage of the productivity of dairy animals, net income and disposal pattern of surplus milk among member households in AP. The book suggests that steps should be taken to bring greater number of milk producers in the cooperative network. This book also examines the policy changes instituted to support the aid flow to the cooperative dairy sector and discusses the lessons learned and benefits realized through improved dairy production.
