Vor seiner Zeit in der Energiewirtschaft war er als Consultant für Digitalisierung und Strategie bei einem der größten Lebensmittelkonzerne in Europa angestellt. Er hat in der Wirtschaftsinformatik zur digitalen Transformation von Handelsunternehmen promoviert. Darüber hinaus ist er Autor einer Vielzahl an wissenschaftlichen Veröffentlichungen zum Forschungsschwerpunkt "digitale Transformation" und als Dozent für Big Data, Data Science und Programmiersprachen an privaten und staatlichen Hochschulen tätig.
