David Donaldson MacKinnon (born 23 May 1956 in Glasgow) is a Scottish former professional football player who is best known for his time with Rangers. He joined Rangers from Partick Thistle for Pds. 30,000 in May 1982. MacKinnon made his top team debut against Motherwell on the 4 September 1982, aged 26. The game ended in as a 2-2 draw. The book, Rangers Player by Player (written by Bob Ferrier and Robert McElroy) said of MacKinnon; Dave was a wholehearted full-back who had pace and was addicted to storming forward to use a powerful shot. MacKinnon departed Ibrox after the arrival of Graeme Souness.
