Death, Dying, and Mysticism

This volume offers a sample of reflections from scholars and practitioners on the theme of death and dying from scholars and practitioners, ranging from the Christian tradition to Hinduism, Lacanian psychoanalysis, while also touching on the themes of the afterlife and near-death experiences.

As an introductory insight into the world of mysticism and death, this book would well suit readers unfamiliar to the topic; being able to readily choose a direction of their interest. However, even a reader familiar with the area may be able to gain greater understanding, primarily by re-balancing their existing knowledge within a larger context, and thereby helping to shake off any academic astigmatisms or tunnel-vision which can sometimes develop with time.
