Death Practices, Experiences and Beliefs in Multi-ethnic churches

Churches in Kenyan capital city- Nairobi are mushrooming each day, congregations increasing in number with diversity in cultures while on the other hand there are many churches closing down each day. Multiple cultures throng churches every Sunday hoping ministers to speak to their hearts-or probably to their cultures.It is seemingly impossible to contextually minister to such cases without understanding such people and their cultures. As Christians seeking ways of proper Biblical contextualization can really help.This can only be possible within a well researched work such as this book. From this research, Christians in multi-ethnic churches ,cities or towns have distinct and varied beliefs, feelings and values that cannot be dealt with in universality . During times of death, the churches in most cases witnesses a lot of practices and beliefs which often times remain syncretic. Thus, we should ask ourselves, are such beliefs and practices Biblical? If not, what should be the way forward? Elphas Bwire unpacks these beliefs,experiences and practices using first hand collected stories and suggests possible Biblical contextual framework for multi-ethnic churches.
