Decline of representative democracy

The general aim of this book is to analyze and discuss the crisis of representative democracy, as well as to present the solution found by some authors who cite the adoption of participatory democracy and the expansion of the use of mechanisms used in direct democracy as a solution to the problem. Some instruments of direct democracy, contrary to popular belief, can create even greater risks for democracy in the contemporary state. It should always be borne in mind that the solution to this crisis lies not only in the implementation and expansion of political participation rights. No, the solution to the problem is not just that. Above all, it lies in the idea of monitoring and controlling political activities. Political rights, individual rights and the right to political participation are on the path to understanding the broad concept of Constitutional Guarantees, which lead to a possible solution to this terrible fact that we are seeing around the world: the decline of representative democracy.
