The core idea of this book is summarized in the philosophy of practicing symbolic influence beyond borders to support the national security structure at the lowest possible cost, without getting involved in armed conflicts or security chaos. Symbolic influence beyond borders is directed toward shaping the collective mind, helping to improve shared understanding and accurately identify the sources of societal security risks and strategic challenges that can be collectively contained at the lowest possible cost and with positive returns for the collective interest. All of these are termed the Theory of Deep Diplomacy.

Ameur Mosbah is a professor of strategic and security studies at the University of Algiers 3, and director of the Laboratory for Strategic Research. He has authored 52 individual books, ten collective books, and dozens of academic articles. His most recent book is Socio-Strategic Power Theory: Functional Society as a Source of Deep Defense Power.
