Democracy in Iraq. Challenges and Opportunities for Iran

Today, the Islamic Republic of Iran, as the most important center of power and security in the region, has become the most influential player in the Middle East. Given the conflicting construction of the Middle East and the extent of the interests and national security of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Iran's security interests cannot be without regard to regional considerations. In this regard, new security dynamics and especially the change of power structure in Iraq, its internal conflicts have fundamentally affected the national security of the Islamic Republic of Iran.In the macro-regional dimension, Iraq's security threats to Iran have a long history, including border disputes, the Kurdish question and its effects on the issue of Iran's minorities, and claims by various Iraqi officials regarding the Arabs and Khuzestan. And support for Iranian political opponents and separatist political groups, the incitement of Arabs in the region against Iran in the process of rivalry between the two countries in the Middle East during the Pahlavi regime, he noted.
