Dental Implant Failures: Etiology & Management
Details
Dental Implant have become an important therapeutic modality in the last decade mainly after the works developed by Branemark(1985) in which the direct contact between the bone functional tissues and the biomaterial titanium was termed osseointegration. After the installation of endosseous implants there are three possible that might occur in host tissues...There might be living and functional tissue formation around the implants resulting in osseointegration.....or there might be formation of connective tissue around implants leading to osseointegration failure. The criteria for evaluation of implant failure are commonly based on clinical and radiographic alterations which commonly reflect wide pathological conditions like mobility encapsulation and local inflammation. All these factors have prompted us to explore this untraveled path and our search has resulted in the culmination of this manuscript.
