Design and analysis of passive micromixers

Dimension makes the difference between Microelectronics and Electronics. Can dimension play a similar role in fluid dynamics, chemistry or biology? This is the major question arising in microfluidics. This work aims at investigating some peculiar property of fluid streams at the micro scale. The results of a new designed device, gaining experience from recent literature, are promising in terms of diffusion and reaction.

Coming from a small village, Saluzzo, the author attended courses of Aerospace Engineering at Politecnico di Torino. The author started is scientific activity with a thesis in fluid dynamics at University of Stuttgard. The working experience helped the author to complete the PhD in Biomedical Engineering with a thesis on applied fluid dynamics.
