Design and use of media Resources

This study in an attempt to investigate the use of media resource during teaching practice. The purpose of this study was to find out the types of media resources available for use during teaching practice. The importance and the extent the media resources and the attitudes they have towards selection, improvisation acquisition and use of media. The study was carried out in nine primary schools in Nyanza. Three from Southern Kisii, three from Migori and three from each Central Kisii. It involved 108 trainees. Two types of questionnaires were used as study instruments one for teacher trainees and the other (Check List) for the researcher. The questionnaires were given and collected by the researcher. And the findings were: (a) Teacher-trainees agree that media resources are important during teaching practice and should be availed and are adequate. (b) Conclusions drawn point out that media resources are important during teaching practice, therefore teacher trainees should be trained on acquisition, improvisation and storage of media resources. (c) In many schools media resources where perceived as necessary, however the teacher trainees didn't have them.
