Design applied to Prospective Scenarios: Recife 500 years

The current challenge facing metropolises in the face of social, economic, environmental and urban issues has placed the public and private spheres in a position to determine effective planning that enables a long-term vision by proposing scenarios that indicate strategic paths to benefit the city in a sustainable way. This paper proposes a methodological process of listening through the development of a workshop model that would enable the creation of prospective scenarios by the different stakeholders. Finally, guidelines are presented that can corroborate the sustainable future of the city of Recife, Brazil.

The author has a degree in Industrial Design from the Federal University of Campina Grande - UFCG, a Specialisation in Strategic Design from the European Institute of Design - IED and a Master's Degree in Design Innovation and Sustainability from the Federal University of Pernambuco - UFPE.
