Details

In this work, a handle for 0.75liters - 1.5liters bottle water and its mould were designed and developed. Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools such as SOLIDWORKS CAD, SOLIDWORKS Simulation were utilized in the course of the design. The design and analysis of the Handle was conducted with a parametric approach developed during the design stage, and was performed in a systematic and systemic manner. Every progression of design was assessed and interpreted in detail in this book. The primary goal of increasing the torsional rigidity and stiffness to be above 200 x 103 N-m/deg. was achieved from our Finite Element Analysis (FEA); also, achieving a minimal weight of 0.0019kg for the test handle sample against 0.00206kg of the control handle sample gotten from India, never neglecting its ease to manufacture and ease of access. A four cavity mould for the bottle water handle was fabricated and used to produce the test handle sample. Furthermore, the cost effectiveness of the design and fabrication process and the mould capacity was considered in the work. It is expected that the work will allow bottle water companies in Nigeria, who are not using handles at the moment.
