This book demonstrates the design and fabrication of multifunctional fluorescent magnetic nanostructures which are of special interest in cancer diagnostic and therapy. A brief overview on fabrication of mesoporous silica based multifunctional nanocomposites and their subsequent biomedical application is presentent in this book. This book involves the development of two new mesoporous silica based luminescent magnetic nanostructures for high loading of various therapeutic toxins and their delivery at the target site.The single developed nanostructures can have multiple functionalities like magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) contrast, fluorescence imaging and drug delivery.

Dr. Swagatika Sahu was born on 20th June 1985 and brought up in Baripada, Odisha, India. She has completed her doctoral degree from National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, Inddia in 2015. After that she has joined as Adhoc Faculty in Department of Chemistry, National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur, India.
