Design of Reverse Logistics systems and networks in supply chain

In this era of global business competition, companies must adopt reverse logistics strategies that shall give them strategic advantage as well as a competitive edge. Businesses are now geared towards increased revenue, reduced costs and improved collaboration through elimination of waste, improvement of quality, continuous improvement and green manufacturing. Customer satisfaction and sustainability hold a high priority in the eyes of organizations today. For most companies, as product sales increase, so do product returns, which in tum has companies' eager to maintain their customer satisfaction ratings. The forward and reverse supply chains have unique characteristics that vary among different organizations. Most organizations manage and quantify various parameters in the forward supply chain by utilizing various available supply chain management systems. These supply chain management system have been developed solely for the forward supply chain. Currently, a framework does not exist to implement management in the reverse supply chain. This book presents the development and implementation of various methodologies to be used in various reverse logistics management aspects.
