Designing framework for strategies fostering product development using QFD

This work is based on the philosophy that exposure to a variety of different new product successes and methodologies may provide valuable insights to the process of product development.The research attempts to explore different areas in product development and address the issues at the front end of the product development processes using a decision perspective with analysis of attributes. It was desired to develop a model which allows decision makers to decompose a complex problem in a hierarchical structure to show the relationship of the goals, objectives, criteria and alternatives to evaluate most satisfying design for customer.The proposed methodology fosters the product development process using a decision perspective, considering it as a deliberate business processes with scores of generic decisions.

Dr Tarun Soota, PhD, is a Reader at Mechanical Engineering Department at Bundelkhand Institute of Engineering and Technology (B.I.E.T.) Jhansi. He has authored books on 'Product Development and Design', 'Modern Project Management' and 'Product Development Methodology'. He has more then 15 papers in national, international conferences and journals.
