This edited book brings together contributions from scholars in different international and educational contexts to take a critical look at the design and implementation of second language Study Abroad Research (SAR). Janice McGregor is Assistant Professor of German Studies and faculty member in the Second Language Acquisition and Teaching (SLAT) graduate interdisciplinary program at the University of Arizona, USA.

John L. Plews is Professor of German and Special Advisor for International Field Schools at Saint Mary's University, Halifax, Canada, and Director of the Canadian Summer School in Germany.
