Over the last decades, significant advances in powersemiconductor device technologies andlow-cost/high-speed control processors along withdemands of industries have reached beyond standardac/ac power converters with voltage-source invertersfed from diode rectifiers. Sangshin Kwak received the Ph. D. degree from Electrical Engineering at Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas. His fields of study are analysis and design of power converter circuits, variable speed drives for traction and propulsion applications, digital display drivers, and DSP-based power electronics control.
