Majority of Ethiopia s farmers have been using traditional way of agricultural practices. This has contributed for low productivity of the agricultural sector. To solve these problems, governmental and non-governmental bodies have made restless efforts to bring about change in agricultural production system of peasant farmers. However, the introduced technologies are not widely accepted by farmers as expected. Therefore, the main focus of this study was to assess the extent to which the new maize technologies are adopted by farmers, and to identify the factors influencing adoption of the recommended technologies.

The author was born in Wolaita Zone, Ethiopia, in 1979. He has got his B.Sc and M. Sc from Haramaya University. Currently the author is pursuing his PhD degree in Rural Development.
