Determinants of Non-Adherence to Art Treatment
Details
HIV/AIDS is an epidemic that affects every part of the globe. To reduce the mortality and morbidity rate caused by the HIV/AIDS epidemic different initiatives were made by international organizations and donors. The term treatment adherence refers to the ability of the patient to develop and follow a plan of behavioral and attitudinal change that ultimately serves to empower patients to improve health and self-manage a given illness.Non-adherence by patients on ART has serious consequence both on the individual as well as the society. HIV replicates and mutates (changes its character, including its ability to resist drugs) at a very high rate.
