Despite vast amounts of resources and time invested in the development and implementation of health information systems (HIS), health information is barely used by health workers for service delivery, planning and decision-making. This study was conducted to assess the determinants that influence the processing and utilization of routine health information in Sunyani regional hospital. The population of the study was staff in the Sunyani Regional Hospital which totalled seven hundred and eight (708). The survey encompassed the frontline staff and heads of clinical, nursing and community health services at each of the units in the facility. The sample size for this project work is fifty (50). The study revealed that technical determinants are less likely to influence the effective utilization of the routine health information in the health facility. The study findings further indicated that behavioural determinants composite index of all behavioural factors statistically influence the effective utilization of routine health information in the health facility at 95% C.I with P.V of 0.000.
