Manuel Neukirchner, geboren 1967, leitet das Museum seit 2015 als Direktor und Vorsitzender der Geschäftsführung der DFB-Stiftung Deutsches Fußballmuseum gGmbH. Der ehemalige Print- und Hörfunkjournalist studierte Allgemeine Literaturwissenschaft, Geschichte und Germanistik und ist Autor zahlreicher Buchveröffentlichungen.
