Developing a Model for a Child-Friendly Church

The phenomenon of child-friendly practices in differing facets of the community has been gaining attention recently. However, interest in a child-friendly church is only slowly emerging. A child-friendly church is one that makes and executes definitive plans for children to enjoy church. In this postmodern era, there must be a place for children in the church. Children at church should not be treated as unwanted spectators. Their participation is crucial. While there is some literature on child-friendly practices that could be employed in churches, there has been no known model for a child-friendly church. This book presents such a model. It stresses the importance of addressing the physical, social, spiritual, safety and emotional needs of children. Based on the responses of parents, children, church leaders and child experts who participated in a survey, this book offers practical ideas and step by step details for making churches child friendly. It is an excellent resource for all who would like children to enjoy church and build a relationship with Jesus.
