Development and insecurity of users of public spaces in the city of N'Djamena in Chad
Details
In a context marked by rapid urbanisation, the development of the streets in the city of N'Djamena has been a limitation for the authorities in charge. The problem is more accentuated in the districts such as the 7th district, the area of our study. Its streets are precarious and in an advanced state of degradation, causing socio-economic and environmental problems. In order to draw the attention of the authorities to the need to develop these streets, the study highlights these various problems and proposes strategies for the development of these streets. In addition to the collection of documentary data, we surveyed 400 users and conducted 7 interviews with officials of the Technical Directorate of the municipality of N'Djamena, the municipality of the 7th District and the Directors of Urban Planning at the MATUH. These different interviews allowed us to better understand the role and responsibilities of the different actors involved in the development of streets in N "Djamena in general and the 7th District in particular.
