In Nigeria today, many of the equipment or appliances using ac voltage get damaged or suffer reduction in their lifespan due to poor electricity supply. This problem relates to quality of power supply which can be seen as voltage fluctuations. Many household appliances are often subjected to repairs or termination of their use as a result of poor power supply. Such poor power supply is often as a result of poor power distribution planning. The problem being addressed is the lack of a computer-based power distribution voltage and frequency data-acquisition device to monitor the mains power supply. Such a device is needed for accumulating data for power distribution analysis, planning and research. The book was written for the advantage of undergraduate and graduate science and engineering students, academics and enthusiasts who embark on similar computer interface development. Further, students and academics who work on mains voltage and frequency supply will find it useful. It is also applicable to researchers who intend to collect large volume of data of mains voltage and frequency for purpose of analysis. Power distribution engineers will also find useful the content of the book.

Zacchaeus Adetona holds B.Sc. Electronic and Electrical Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria. He has also obtained a M. Eng. degree in Electronic Control Engineering at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria.He currently works as a lecturer at The Federal Polytechnic,Ilaro, Nigeria.
