Development of a New Global Rating Scale or Checklist to Assess the Teaching of Surgical Skills Objectively

This book aimed to develop a new and practical global rating scale with competent psychometric properties for objective assessment of teaching of technical skills in surgery. Although there are several tools that are already available for this purpose (assessment of teaching), some of these tools assessed the teaching of clinical skills and others assessed the skills.Meanwhile, our tool is concerned with the assessment of teaching surgical technical skills. In addition, the psychometric properties in our tool have been tested while these properties in other tools were not assessed properly. Thus we aimed to develop a new Global Rating Scale with competent psychometric properties for Objectively Assessing the Teaching of Surgical Technical Skills.

Além disso, possui um mestrado em cirurgia minimamente invasiva e laparoscópica na Queen Mary University of London.
