Development of cultural tourism in Balengou

With the near absence of a place for the valorization and conservation of culture in Balengou, we were obliged to write a book on the locality in order to valorize and perpetuate Balengou culture on the one hand, and on the other hand to valorize Cameroonian culture in order to make a modest contribution to the development of tourism in the interior of the country. Thus, from the general presentation of the locality of Balengou, discussed in Chapter I, it appears that the population is essentially peasant and remains very anchored in their traditional values. For example, they still practice the cult of skulls, widowhood rites and initiation rites dating back to ancient times. We will then make an inventory of the tourist heritage specific to the locality studied, where we note that Balengou is rich in natural tourist attractions, its crafts and its royal ornaments, which deserve to be preserved and then developed for the perpetuation of the cultural identity of the locality.
