Development Of Hydrostatic Weighing Equipment

This book accounts for a study undertaken to design a Hydrostatic Weighing (HSW) equipment for the purpose of measuring body adiposity. The HSW equipment was constructed using a 2000 litre capacity water tank, a suspended weighing scale and small metallic chair. The validity and reliability of the HSW equipment was established. The HSW equipment is recommended as a low- cost, user-friendly and valid method of body adiposity assessment for clinical and research purposes.

Adesola O. Ojoawo is a graduate of Physiotherapy at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Nigeria. He is presently a clinician and lecturer in the department of Medical Rehabilitation, College of Health Sciences, O.A.U. He holds a PhD in exercise physiology. He is currently into research on body composition and health.
