Development of Mobile Learning Techniques for Higher Education

In the recent years, the use of mobile phones have increased exponentially, and its function as a learning tool is increasingly popular. Nearly every student has a mobile phone and makes it possible for them to access learning materials anywhere at any time. This book provides effective techniques of mobile learning which can assist students in their studies. The availability of free software such as Android and Eclipse has made it possible to create mobile applications. Multimedia contents are also highly preferred by learners and this book will shed some light on how these techniques are developed, how it should be used and further improved. The software testings and evaluations will show an overall look on mobile learning and its benefits to higher education.This will be useful in any other learning environment, especially the higher institutions in Samoa.

Dr Edna Temese Manutai has just completed her PhD in Engineering. She has published Journal and Conference Papers in the fields of E-learning, Multimedia and ICT. She recently worked on developing mobile applications for higher education learning. She is also working on a project called KISSEL for the Asia Pacific Region.
