Development of the principle of opportunity in military criminal justice

The book seeks to make an initial analysis of the accusatory criminal justice system model, to which both the ordinary criminal justice system and the military criminal justice system currently obey in Colombia, with the aim of demonstrating the objective and characteristics of this model, which leads to the application of the principle of opportunity and demonstrating the need for it. The principle of opportunity cannot be separated from military justice when the model used is the accusatory criminal system. It also reviews the changes that the military criminal justice system in Colombia has undergone in recent years and which led to the initial application of the principle of opportunity, but which was subsequently eliminated by a decision of the Colombian Constitutional Court, which the author does not agree with, making it necessary to determine what other tools can achieve the objectives of an accusatory criminal system, such as speed and efficiency, avoiding the need for all cases to go to trial.
