Diachronic Survey of English Lexicography

Many theories concerning lexicography, compiling dictionaries and their types have been interpreted on the basis of anthropocentric and structural systematic linguistics. We have compared theories worked out by above mentioned lexicographers concerning to the subject of our dissertation research and came to the conclusion that there are a lot of problems of modern dictionaries, ways of compiling by means of new digital technologies on the basis of new paradigm of modern linguistics, as cognitive, linguo-cultural and pragma-linguistics. The problem of lexicography and its historical development in English have been tried to solve in the light of diachronic and synchronic aspects.As we know that the theory of lexicography in connected with all the disciplines which study the lexical system, semantics, lexicology, grammar and stylistics. Modern linguistics requires the lexicography investigation from the point of cultural, conceptual, pragmatic, contextual and textual aspects.
