DIAGNOSTIC AND PROGNOSTIC METHODS IN INDUSTRIAL MAINTENANCE

The aim of this book is to explore the diagnostic and prognostic methods used in industrial maintenance, focusing on their practical application to improve system reliability and availability. It begins with a literature review to establish a solid basis of understanding of key concepts and techniques. The book then classifies diagnostic methods into two broad categories: those without mathematical models and model-based methods. For each category, it examines in detail the fundamental principles, key concepts, and associated techniques, providing concrete examples. Finally, it offers practical recommendations for the adoption and implementation of these methods in industrial systems, emphasizing the importance of data collection and analysis, as well as the integration of tools and information technologies.
