Die »Anathomie« in der »Grande Chirurgie« des Gui de Chauliac

This is the first scholarly edition of the »Anathomie«, which is the first tractate of Gui de Chauliac's (1300-1368) »Grande Chirurgie« in the French translation found in manuscript H 184 of Montpellier's Bibliothèque de la Faculté de Médecine dating from the 2nd third of the 15th century. It includes an introduction, a lexicographic study of the text, and a glossary. The aim of the lexicographic study is the integration of the ordinary-language and specialized (medical) vocabulary and its meanings into the history of the vocabulary of French. The »Grande Chirurgie« is of major significance as a source of knowledge on medieval French medical terminology.
