Die Kraft des Exempels

A widespread phenomenon of our moral practice is that we judge extraordinary moral actions as morally valuable but not as morally required, that is to say, as superogatory. The focus of the study is the extent to which Kantian ethics can provide a systematically relevant perspective on this phenomenon, even though it makes no provision for a category of supererogation.
